Short Description:This paper argues that federal and state policymakers should acknowledge the key role CTE programs and pedagogies play in meeting the needs of young people and provides recommendations about how to improve perception, delivery and evaluation of CTE.
Annotation:This paper suggests the federal government should require states to conduct a scan across agencies to identify policies and programs related to skill development for young people and develop a statewide framework with clear roles and expectations for each. The paper argues that federal and state policymakers should acknowledge the key role CTE programs and pedagogies play in meeting the needs of young people and provides recommendations about how to improve perception, delivery and evaluation of CTE.
