Title:Best practices in statewide articulation and transfer systems
Source:http://www.wiche.edu/files/stas/OverviewOfLiter...
Date:2009
Organization:Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education (WICHE)
Short Description:In difficult economic times, enrollments in higher education traditionally increase, especially in community colleges. This literature review is intended to serve as an overview of studies relevant to identifying best practices in statewide articulation and transfer.
Annotation:In difficult economic times, enrollments in higher education traditionally increase, especially in community colleges. Their geographic locations, open admissions policies and lower costs, as compared to other sectors in higher education, make them more accessible to a wider range of learners, especially low-income, minority, and first-generation students. While record numbers are enrolling, however, degree completion rates have stagnated. This literature review is intended to serve as an overview of studies relevant to identifying best practices in statewide articulation and transfer.
