Annotation:This paper identifies four types of learning environments that seem promising for vulnerable and potentially disconnected youth. Reinvented high schools, secondary/postsecondary blends, education/employment blends, and extended learning opportunities are examined in light of their potentially positive impact on vulnerable youth. Specific policy recommendations for improving outcomes for potentially disconnected youth are also discussed.
