Title:Pushed out or pulled up: Exit exams and dropout rates in public high schools
Short Description:Examined public high school graduation rates to determine the relationship between exit exams and dropping-out.
Annotation:This study examined public high school graduation rates to determine the relationship between exit exams and dropping-out. Results indicate little or no evidence of a decrease in graduation rates when students are required to pass exit exams, and suggest such exams may actually motivate schools to improve student preparation and remediation prior to graduation.
