Title:Lesser and greater expectations: The wasted senior year and college-level study in high school
Short Description:With U.S. high schools performing poorly in comparison to schools in most other developed nations, the potential to provide college-level study to high school seniors is an increasingly attractive option.
Annotation:For many American students, the senior year of high school is a time reduced academic engagement. Since graduation tests usually require only ninth or tenth-grade level work, and college admissions are often granted prior to the beginning of the senior year, this period often amounts to wasted time for both high and low achieving students.
