Short Description:This report examines ways that colleges and universities can more effectively address the factors that drive older adults to postsecondary education. Ways to broaden this group's postsecondary participation and ways that colleges and universities could work collaboratively, creatively, and resourcefully with other sectors to meet older adults' educational needs are discussed.
Annotation:ACE's two-year research project, Reinvesting in the Third Age: Older Adults and Higher Education addresses questions related to postsecondary participation for older Americans in its new and final report, Mapping New Directions: Higher Education for Older Adults. This report examines ways that colleges and universities can more effectively address the factors that drive older adults to postsecondary education. Ways to broaden this group's postsecondary participation and ways that colleges and universities could work collaboratively, creatively, and resourcefully with other sectors to meet older adults' educational needs are discussed.
