Title:Help wanted: Projections of jobs and education requirements through 2018
Source:http://www9.georgetown.edu/grad/gppi/hpi/cew/pd...
Date:2010
Organization:Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce
Short Description:This report presents the case for why postsecondary education and training is critical to helping our nation’s workers navigate this transformation successfully, and emphasizes the importance of aligning postsecondary education with job projections to maximize the potential of the US labor force.
Annotation:These are the wrong times for inadequate information on jobs and skill requirements. Not only is the United States climbing out of the worst downturn since the Great Depression, it has transformed from an industrial to a services economy, with all of the pain and upheaval that accompanies such change. Educational and career planning need to catch up and adjust to this new reality. This report presents the case for why postsecondary education and training is critical to helping our nation’s workers navigate this transformation successfully.
